Providing the skills necessary to find and progress in employment

Learning and Skills

Having the right skills can make all the difference to improving life chances, employability and progression.
We help develop the skills of young people and adults. These may be people who are in work and want career progression, are out of work and need to retrain to find employment, or want to earn more qualifications. We also work with a wide range of employers to help them fill their skills gaps by retraining their staff.

What do we do?

We develop and provide a wide range of Advanced Learner Loans to help with the cost of further education, as well as apprenticeships and traineeships through Ixion. In November 2017 Ofsted rated Ixion as Grade 1 Outstanding.
Depending on your interest, as a learner you can choose from a wide range of sectors including construction, education and training, health and social care, leadership and management, digital and IT, and functional skills. No matter what level you are at, we offer something for everyone – from entry level to degree level.
Our strong relationships with employers of all sizes help learners find a dream career.
Over the last three years Ixion has delivered 80,000 full programme qualifications ranging from traineeships, classroom learning, loans funding to apprenticeships. We are proud to have contributed £880m to UK GDP through the programmes we have delivered, careers we helped develop, and businesses we supported to grow.
This work takes place across England in the south east and London, West and East Midlands, east of England, north east and Yorkshire, and the south west. We are also able to deliver in Edinburgh through our short course training contract with Edinburgh Council.
